A Plan that WILL Work

Before we get to what to do, we need to define a few terms:

Christian -- One who lives his/her life as though Yeshuah really is the Lord and the Bible is truly the Word of God.

ProLifer -- One who supports the right to life from conception to natural death.

ProAbort -- One who either by action or inaction accepts the killing of children in the womb.  This includes those who profess to be ProLife in their private life, but support it publicly.  (Often this is a purely political dodge.) Those who consider it an issue of "women's rights".  And those who consider it not their concern or
responsibility.

Then we need to understand a few basic realities.  The first one is:

I.  It is OUR job:

From the time God first called me into His service until now He has pointed to HIS PEOPLE as the answer.   Leviticus 7:13-14 puts it this way, "When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if MY PEOPLE, which are called by MY NAME, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Many do not consider abortion their problem because they don't kill the children, but that is not what Scripture tells us.  Genesis 9:5 says, "I will demand an accounting from every animal.  And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellowman."  This literally means we will be asked why we allowed the children to die when we are called to account for our lives.  Why we did so little to stop it?   Why we didn't heed His warnings?

Further Exodus 23:7 demands that we, "Have nothing to do with a false charge and do not put an innocent or honest person to death, for I will not acquit the guilty."  We have allowed a trumped up ruling to keep the shedding of innocent blood legal for years.  We have stood by while literally thousands have been slaughtered.  Different denominations have even gone so far as to take the stance that abortion is acceptable to God.  The effect is that we are guilty in God's eyes. Deuteronomy 19:10 just further illuminates that fact.  ("Do this so that innocent blood will not be shed in your land . . . so that you will not be guilty of bloodshed.")

God is not waiting for pro-aborts to end abortion.  No, He's waiting for us to decide His word matters enough to act on it.

II.  God is Able:

Obama may be President, but God is still God.  Whatever human authority we find ourselves under, their power cannot compare to that of our Great Creator.   His will tumps theirs every single time.  They, on the other hand, can only do what He allows them to.

We have to stop looking to human leaders and turn to the Lord.  Man's plans may have some effect, but God's move the mountains.  The Israelites did not win the battle of Jericho.  God gave it into their hands.  But, note, He didn't do it while they were in unbelief.  No, they had to come to the battleground ready and willing to do whatever He told them to.

We have to get it into our hearts that God is willing and able to end child sacrifice.  No power or authority is greater than His.  Nor can any evil stand against Him.

Once we understand these things, we must:

III.  Submit to His Authority:

Leviticus makes it clear that the condition of our nation is directly related to our disobedience.  We let ourselves be deceived into thinking Christians shouldn't be involved in their nation's government, schools, or, basically, anywhere else besides the church building itself.  What we should have realized is that we were founded by Christians who established our government for the protection of our Christian rights.  Our lack of involvement has led to laws and rulings that infringe on those rights deeper with almost every passing day.  Forcing us to not only accept abortion, but pay for them, is just that -- an infrigement on our Christian right not to support the shedding of innocent blood.  But, again, if you're waiting on the government to restore that right, you need to go back and read the first section of this article.

Since God's word says we are responsible, the next step is to repent.  Fortunately, Leviticus also tells us that honest humility and repentance restores the land..

IV.  Commit:

Any true Christian who saw a little child being murdered before their eyes would try immediately to save it.  We wouldn't turn our heads, say it wasn't any of our business, or look around for someone else to come rescue it.  And we certainly wouldn't label it some kind of protected "right".  No, we would commit to risking ourselves for their life.  Many of us would commit before we even considered the danger to ourselves, because we instinctively care for children.  Yet, abortion kills helpless little children almost every day.  We need to be just as committed to ending their slaughter as we would be to the child before us.  They are no less precious in the Lord's eyes.  They are no less human.

If we don't make the children a priority, they will die.

V.  Show up for Duty:

This isn't about one person or even one group of people.  We are all responsible and we all have duties.   Because this is about the body of Christ being obedient to His law.  Just imagine a nation waging a war with only a handful of soldiers.  That's how abortion has been fought; by a diligent few.  Now think what would happen if every believing Christian focused on ending child sacrifice.  Instead of having to settle for what little the pro-aborts are willing to give us, we would abolish this abomination from the land.

Remember the battle of Jericho (Joshua 5:13 - 6:25)?  The state of the entire nation of Israel rested on that battle.  They would either move into the Promised Land or they would be turned back to the wilderness.  They couldn't afford to let the fact that giants lived there keep them from going.  They couldn't afford to be swayed by the massive outer walls of the city.  They had to press forward against outwardly frightening odds.

Did you notice that the plan to defeat Jericho did not come to Joshua until they approached the city?  Joshua 5:13-14, "Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand.  Joshua went up to him and asked, 'Are you for us or for our enemies?'   'Neither,' he replied, 'but as Commander of the Army of the Lord I have now come.'"  It was only then that the Angel gave Joshua the instructions that led to the fall of the city.  They had to be onsite, ready for battle, before the way to take down those walls was given.

I can just see them marching around the outside of those massive walls; the people inside laughing and jeering at them.  Day after day they go out to the ridicule and insults of those they seek to bring down.  Then on the seventh day the Lord gives the battle into their hands.  Do you think those unbelievers inside understood the power of our Holy God at that point?

The first days of the campaign sound exactly like what goes on outside an abortuary.  Those who kill the children do think those who try to save them foolish.  They have their walls - a Supreme Court ruling, political protection, and the "politically correct" crowd - and we have our blankets, leaflets, and songs of praise.  But our true weapon, the one they don't see or recognize, is the Lord.  I assure you the fortress pro-aborts have built around abortion is no stronger than those walls of Jericho.  Their "giants" cannot standup to our God's strength.  We just need to have enough faith in Him to show up in Christian battlegear for the battle.

What exactly will He have us do?  I confess, I don't know for sure.  We know from experience certain things are effective.  And it's clear that our effectiveness would be improved by an increase of dedicated workers.  I'm sure Joshua wasn't expecting to be told just to march around the fortified city.   I certainly didn't expect to start with a poem.  But the battle of Jericho, like the abortion war, was a battle of faith and obedience.  If we want to win, we, too, will have to step out in faith expecting God to lead us.

In Summary:

Innocent blood covers our land.  God is highly displeased.  He has a plan.  He intends to lead.   It's up to us to follow.  It may be a little scary stepping out in such faith, but it is what we are called to do and how we are called to live.  We are to be "the light of the world".  That means we must not, absolutely cannot, sit still on the sidelines while the children continue to die.  We simply must stand up.  And make no mistake about it, we may be saving the children, but we will also be standing up for our right to serve Him in truth.
